Movement without barriers: accessible physical activity for all

In April 2026, the Territorial Center for Social Services (Provision of Social Services) of the Chuguiv City Council hosted an integration event "Activity without Barriers: Health, Unity and Mutual Support", organized by the Non-profit Organization "CF "Right to Protection".

The event aimed to support the elderly and people with disabilities, develop social cohesion, and create an inclusive environment in the community. It was attended by 24 people who actively participated in all stages of the program.

The event program was rich and diverse. Participants had the opportunity to get to know each other, learn more about available services in the community, participate in a facilitated dialogue, and discuss important topics - from overcoming barriers to developing mutual support and active participation in community life. Special attention was paid to the issues of environmental accessibility and the role of each resident in creating a barrier-free space.

An important part of the event was the sports component "Movement without Barriers: Accessible Physical Activity for All", which included adapted physical activities taking into account the capabilities of each participant. Exercises for balance, coordination, motor interaction and recovery contributed not only to improving physical condition, but also to increasing emotional well-being, reducing tension and strengthening team spirit.

The participants noted the relevance of the event, its practical value, and expressed interest in further participation in similar activities. In particular, there were suggestions for regular integration meetings and expanding the sports component.

Director of the Territorial Center for Social Services (Provision of Social Services) of the Chuguiv City Council, Tetyana Vitaliivna Semiletova, expressed sincere gratitude to the organizers for the high level of preparation of the event, its content, and significant contribution to supporting the elderly and people with disabilities. It was emphasized that such initiatives contribute to strengthening social cohesion, improving the psycho-emotional state of residents, and developing a culture of mutual support in the community.

Holding such events is an important step towards creating an open and inclusive community in which every resident feels valued, involved, and supported.

The assistance is provided within the framework of the project "Response Consortium: Providing Multi-Sectoral Humanitarian Assistance to the Conflict-Affected Population in Ukraine (2023-2026)" from the Right to Protection Foundation thanks to the generous support of the American people provided through the Government of the United States of America.
