In compliance with the requirements of the laws of Ukraine "On the condemnation of communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of the propaganda of their symbols", "On the condemnation and prohibition of the propaganda of Russian imperial policy in Ukraine and the decolonization of toponymy", "On the principles of the state policy of the national memory of the Ukrainian people", the Chuhuiv City Council invited residents of the community to join the public discussion on the renaming of urbanonyms (streets, alleys, squares) of the Chuhuiv urban territorial community, which, for security reasons, was held in the format of electronic consultations with the public.
By decision of the commission on naming or renaming objects of the Chuguiv urban territorial community, perpetuating the memory of prominent figures and events, installing memorial signs and plaques on the territory of the community, 5 urbanonyms located in the city of Chuguiv and the village of Kochetok were submitted for public consideration.
Proposals were accepted for 15 calendar days - from April 14, 2026 to April 28, 2026 - on the official website of the Chuguiv City Council in the "Electronic Consultations" section, and were also sent in written and electronic form to the address of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Chuguiv City Council.
A total of 24 new names were submitted by commission members and residents of the Chuguiv urban territorial community.
The Commission on the naming or renaming of objects of the Chuhuiv urban territorial community, perpetuation of the memory of prominent figures and events, installation of memorial signs, memorial plaques on the territory of the community, referring to the regulatory acts and the Regulations on the procedure for naming, renaming objects of the Chuhuiv urban territorial community, perpetuation of the memory of prominent figures and events, installation of memorial signs, memorial plaques on the territory of the community, excluded the following proposals from the list:
- names of streets and alleys that already exist in the community;
- anonymous suggestions whose authors could not be identified.
