The other day, the Territorial Center for Social Services (provision of social services) of the Chuguiv City Council hosted an integration event "Together in Colors: An Artistic Space for Social Integration", organized by the NGO "CF "Right to Protection".
The event brought together elderly community residents and people with disabilities with the aim of reducing social isolation, developing mutual support, and creating a barrier-free, inclusive environment. Participants actively participated in all stages of the program, demonstrating openness to communication, interest, and willingness to interact.
The event program was rich and diverse. Participants had the opportunity to get to know each other, learn more about available services in the community, with an emphasis on communication opportunities and feedback mechanisms. During the facilitated dialogue, participants discussed important topics for the community: creating an accessible environment, developing mutual support, engaging in active life, and strengthening the role of older people and people with disabilities in decision-making processes. Of particular interest was the exchange of practical ideas and experience in overcoming barriers and developing social interaction.
A separate component of the event was the creative component "Art Therapy Laboratory", which created a safe space for self-expression, emotional release and interaction. Participants participated in a variety of activities - from painting eco-bags and drawing to creativity in the felting technique. Such formats contributed not only to the development of creativity, but also to strengthening the sense of unity and support in the group.
The participants noted the relevance of the event, its practical value, expressed gratitude to the organizers and interest in further participation in similar initiatives.
Deputy Mayor and Head of the Executive Committee of the Chuguiv City Council Lyudmila Makarenko and Director of the Territorial Center for Social Services (Provision of Social Services) of the Chuguiv City Council Tetyana Semiletova expressed sincere gratitude to the organizers for the high level of preparation of the event, its content and significant contribution to supporting the elderly and people with disabilities. It was emphasized that such initiatives contribute to strengthening social cohesion, improving the psycho-emotional state of residents and developing a culture of mutual support in the community.
Holding such events is an important step towards creating an open and inclusive community in which every resident feels valued, involved, and supported.
