
Born on January 2, 1996 in the village of Lyutivka, Zolochiv district, Kharkiv region. In 2012, he graduated from 9th grade at the educational complex of the village of Kamyana Yaruga. After graduating from school, Oleksiy entered the Chuguyiv Vocational Agrarian Lyceum No. 53, where he obtained the profession of tractor driver, single-bucket excavator driver, bulldozer driver, and driver.
After graduating from vocational school, he worked in the city of Kharkiv as a builder at PrivatBank. During one of his business trips to the village of Kolomak, Kharkiv region, he met his future wife Diana. He lived there with his wife and two children almost until the start of the full-scale war. Alexey was a loving husband and father, a reliable support for his family, for whom he was ready to do anything.

A few months before the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, he worked as a builder in Poland, and after the full-scale invasion, he immediately returned home to defend his family and the Motherland, because he dreamed that his children would live under the peaceful Ukrainian sky. Through the Bogodukhov RCTC and the Joint Volunteer Corps, he went to defend the Motherland as a volunteer. He served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the 209th Separate Battalion of the Territorial Defense of Ukraine (military unit A7378) as a rifleman of the 1st Rifle Division of the 3rd Rifle Platoon of the 2nd Rifle Company.
Friends remember Alexey as a kind, sincere, cheerful, always ready to help friend, who loved life very much and had many plans. For his comrades-in-arms, Alexey was a model patriot, an example of spirit and endurance. He took direct part in hostilities.

Circumstances of death:
In late June - early July 2023, a difficult situation developed in the Bakhmut direction. In the area of the city of Bakhmut, the enemy continued intensive shelling of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, conducted defensive actions and tried to counterattack. At this time, the 209th separate battalion occupied a designated defense strip in the area of the village of Khromove, in the Donetsk region. On July 7, 2023, when entering the position, during mortar, machine gun and sniper fire, the life of Oleksiy Vitaliyovich Bolkhovitin was cut short. Oleksiy's body was in the gray zone for a long time, and this made it impossible to recognize him, and therefore DNA analysis was carried out for several months. The Hero was buried on November 5, 2023 in the village of Kolomak, Kharkiv region.
