The international non-governmental organization ENGin has launched a special program "ENGin for Defenders" for military personnel, veterans, and military medics. The program involves weekly online meetings with English-speaking volunteers from over 140 countries around the world.
ENGin for Defenders was created to help defenders of Ukraine master English for personal development, further education, international communication, or adaptation to civilian life after service.
Within the program, each participant is assigned a personal English-speaking volunteer – taking into account their English level, interests, and schedule. Participants meet with their volunteers online once a week for 1 hour and communicate in English on topics of interest to them.
All volunteers undergo a thorough screening process, including a check by the organization to see if they support Ukraine. They also receive additional training and guidance on communicating with Ukrainians, including military personnel and veterans.
To participate in the program, you must have a basic or higher level of English, as well as access to the Internet and the ability to devote one hour per week to studying.
Training for military personnel, veterans, and military medics is free.
