The Coordination Center for the Provision of Legal Aid within the framework of the implementation of the National Strategy for the Protection of Children's Rights in the Sphere of Justice for the Period Until 2028, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 708-r dated July 14, 2025, is implementing measures to raise awareness of children's rights, in particular the right to free legal aid.
The Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Improving the Procedure for Performing Transactions in the Interests of Minors and Juveniles" amended the Law of Ukraine "On Free Legal Aid".
Thus, all children (under 18 years of age) and persons from among orphans and children deprived of parental care, until they reach the age of 23, have the right to all types of legal services provided for by the Law of Ukraine "On Free Legal Aid" - free primary and secondary legal aid.
Free primary legal aid includes legal consultations, explanations on how to exercise a certain right or restore it in case of violation, as well as assistance in drafting applications, appeals, complaints, and some other legal documents.
Free secondary legal aid is the representation of interests in courts, other state bodies, local government bodies, and before other persons; preparation of documents for filing with the court, including procedural documents.
The provision of these services is ensured by the system of providing free legal aid. This is a state network of access points to legal services throughout Ukraine, as well as channels for receiving assistance by telephone and online.
