If a serviceman is undergoing inpatient treatment or rehabilitation and needs dental treatment or dental prosthetics, he has the right to receive them and these services will be paid for by the institution that provided them under a contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine.
Services can be provided in one or different healthcare institutions and will be paid for by the National Health Service of Ukraine. The National Health Service of Ukraine has not imposed any restrictions on payment for these cases.
Free dental treatment for defenders is an important element of veterans' health care policy, which is aimed at comprehensively restoring their health.
Recall that in 2024, the features of the pilot project on dental prosthetics were determined by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 212 of February 27, 2024.
A new Procedure for the Use of Funds for the Implementation of the Pilot Project has already been developed for 2025. Its approval is currently awaited.
Military personnel and veterans can receive free dental prosthetics/dental treatment medical services at institutions that have signed an agreement with the National Health Service of Ukraine for a package of services of the pilot project “Dental prosthetics for certain categories of persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”.
To receive the service, a referral from a dentist is required, as well as an application in any form (about receiving the service under the pilot project for the first time) with copies of documents and presentation of their originals:
– passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
– taxpayer registration card;
– certificate (of a participant in hostilities / a person with a disability as a result of war / certificate of a participant in war and/or military ID of privates, sergeants and non-commissioned officers).
Please note that servicemen who are not on leave must also receive a referral from the commander of the military unit. And then contact a doctor who will provide a referral to receive the appropriate service.
There are several options for finding a medical facility with a contract:
– Call the NSZU contact center fromand number 16-77. Tell the operator in which area the patient wants to receive dental treatment or prosthetics services. The operator will dictate the phone numbers and addresses of dental institutions.
– Find a medical facility on your own on the online map of the National Health Service “Providers of medical services in the field of “Dental prosthetics for certain categories of persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”. In the filter field on the left, select the region or settlement. The selected institutions with information about the working hours, contact numbers and address will remain on the page.
