Dear residents of the Chuhuyiv community!
The Chuguiv City Center for Primary Health Care invites you to take advantage of the opportunity and undergo comprehensive immunization to create a reliable shield against dangerous infectious diseases.
Here, at the address: Chuguiv, Leonova St. 4-a, you can get vaccinated:
1. Against COVID-19 (first dose, second dose or booster vaccination)
2. Against diphtheria and tetanus (ADP-m) (revaccination for adults)
Why is this protection necessary?
Vaccination is the most effective investment in your long-term health, protecting against deadly and irreversible consequences of diseases.
COVID-19 Protection: Fighting Complications
A modern vaccine prepares your body. This not only reduces the risk of infection, but also ensures that if you do get infected, you will:
• avoid hospitalization, intensive care, and fatalities.
• minimize the risk of developing post-COVID syndrome (Long COVID), which can lead to months of chronic fatigue, memory problems, and heart damage.
Protection against diphtheria and tetanus
Immunity against these diseases weakens over time, so it is necessary to get revaccinated every 10 years.
• Diphtheria: Transmitted through the air and secretes a toxin that attacks the heart muscle and nervous system. This disease can cause suffocation due to the formation of films in the throat.
• Tetanus: The bacteria live in soil, dust, and rust and can enter the body through any wound, even a small one. The tetanus toxin causes uncontrollable muscle spasms that stop breathing and lead to death.
15 minutes of your time now = years of peace and protection from deadly danger.
Vaccination is free. Take care of your health and the safety of others!
Five key questions about your immunizations
Your health is our top priority. Below are answers to frequently asked questions about the need for these vaccinations.
1. Why do I need a COVID booster if I've already been sick?
Immunity after an illness (especially if it was a long time ago) quickly weakens and protects less against new variants of the virus. A booster dose reboots your immunity, providing a high level of protection against hospitalization and post-COVID syndrome (Long COVID).
2. Is it true that diphtheria and tetanus have disappeared?
No. Tetanus bacteria live in the soil, and the risk of infection is always there (through any cut or scratch).
Cases of diphtheria are reported every year. They are rare only thanks to vaccination. If your immunity weakens, these diseases return with an extremely high risk of death.
3. What happens if I miss the 10-year vaccination deadline?
If more than 10 years have passed since your last booster vaccination with ADP-m, your protection is considered insufficient.
Get vaccinated as soon as possible. There is no need to start the entire course again—only one dose is needed.
4. Can I get vaccinated at the same time?
Yes! Modern protocols allow for the administration of COVID-19, Diphtheria/Tetanus (DPT) and influenza vaccines on the same day. They are administered in different limbs. This is safe and saves you a lot of time.
5. Could this be dangerous?
The risk of a severe reaction to any vaccine is incomparably lower than the risk of death or disability from the diseases themselves. Common side effects (fever, pain at the injection site) pass within 1-2 days, while the disease can last for weeks, causing long-term complications (heart, nervous system).
