The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution that introduces a mechanism for monetary compensation for veterans with disabilities for re-equipping their own cars for their needs.
The maximum payment amount is up to 70 thousand hryvnias.
This is not just financial assistance, but another step towards true barrier-free and mobility in civilian life for Defenders who lost their health in the war.
When and how to get
Starting from January 2026 Compensation will be provided to veterans with disabilities based on actual, documented costs for re-equipping their own cars at specialized service stations that have such a license.
Where to apply for compensation
To structural units dealing with veteran policy (within the OVA, district administrations or executive bodies of city councils), with an application and necessary documents.

Creating a barrier-free space for veterans with disabilities is not only a matter of convenience, but also of respect for their feat and contribution to the defense of the country. Barrier-free access to transportation, education, medicine, services, and employment without obstacles.
The pilot project was developed by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs to implement the Action Plan for 2025–2026 for the implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine.
