Under the procedural leadership of the Chuhuiv District Prosecutor's Office of the Kharkiv region, pre-trial investigations into the facts of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) have been initiated.
According to the investigation, on August 25 at around 4:05 a.m., the Russian armed forces launched a series of missile strikes on the Kharkiv region.
In the city of Chuguiv, an enemy missile hit an outbuilding on the territory of a private residential complex. Four civilians, including a 4-year-old boy, were injured and suffered acute stress reactions. A 14-year-old girl was also reported injured, but fortunately, her diagnosis was not confirmed during an examination by medical personnel.
Previously, the enemy used Kh-59 aircraft missiles for shelling.
Prosecutors and police investigators are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by Russian military personnel – reports Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the head of the Chuguiv city military administration, Galina Minaeva, according to preliminary data, 21 private households were damaged. In her Telegram channel, Galina Minaeva wrote:
– Once again, Chuguiv becomes a target for the enemy – at four in the morning, the Russians launched a missile strike on a private residential building, near which there are and have never been any military facilities or anything that even slightly resembles them.
This shelling is blatant terror against the civilian population.
All our services are on the scene this morning. According to preliminary data, 21 households have been damaged. Two of them have been completely destroyed, and two more will be thoroughly inspected to finally determine which category they will be further classified into.
I want to thank our municipal workers, who helped residents eliminate the consequences of the shelling throughout the day, and, as usual, our selfless emergency services workers, who are always the first to respond to danger.
She instructed the relevant services not to leave any victim unattended in the registration of damaged and destroyed property. This work is already in full swing.
