
The Chuguiv Urban Territorial Community operates a Specialized Service for Primary Social and Psychological Counseling for Victims of Domestic Violence or Gender-Based Violence.
Supporting victims of domestic and gender-based violence is a core component of humanitarian response protection, built on the principles of safety, confidentiality, respect and non-discrimination.
The main goal of the specialized service is to help meet the social needs of people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances due to domestic violence and gender-based violence.
Specialized service:
- conducts a psychological examination of the victim and organizes the provision of primary psychological support, if necessary;
- provides the victim or their legal representative with information about the rights of such a person, as well as about the capabilities, functions and powers of entities implementing measures in the field of preventing and combating domestic violence and gender-based violence;
- determines the need for emergency psychological assistance and decides on the referral of the victim to a general or specialized victim support service;
- informs victims of measures and social services that they can use, according to their needs, taking into account the psychophysical condition caused by domestic violence.
The provision of social services by a specialized service to affected persons is carried out free of charge in accordance with state standards for the provision of social services.
