«"From Generation to Generation" - a solemn event under this name took place today in Chuguiev, opening a series of festive events dedicated to the 181st anniversary of the birth of the outstanding artist Ilya Repin. It was dedicated to awarding participants in two significant events in the cultural life of the community - the III Art Festival of Amateur Painting "Repin's Palette" and the XVI City Plein Air named after P. Maltsev.
It should be noted that the participants of the first of these plein airs are mostly young beginner artists, while the second annually brings together quite well-known figures in the world of painting in our region.
And it is very pleasing that the level of work of both is noticeably progressing from year to year, as all the guests of today's celebration could see with their own eyes.
Presenting awards to young and adult artists, Deputy Mayor Igor Kashchavtsev noted that their work is the best tribute to the memory of our great compatriot Ilya Repin and his enormous contribution to the treasury of world fine art.
