The high temperatures typical of the height of summer can be dangerous to health. Especially when it comes to enclosed spaces, such as cars.
What exactly is the risk to the life and health of those left locked in a car? Let us explain:
- In the closed space of a car, the temperature rises rapidly and can reach dangerous levels even with the windows open or the air conditioning on.
- Children are more sensitive to temperature changes than adults and, as a result, are more prone to overheating and heat stroke.
- In the enclosed space of a car, air does not circulate properly, which turns it into a "greenhouse.".
- Even the time it takes to "jump out for a minute" can be enough for a child locked in a car to suffer from overheating.
It is important to remember that the danger concerns not only people, but also animals, which can be closed and left in the car unattended.
Therefore, if you witness such a situation, call the police or rescue workers. Tell them the exact location of the car and its description.
