Harvest time is a particularly fire-hazardous period! Dry weather, faulty equipment, human negligence – all this can lead to large-scale fires and losses. The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region calls on farmers to strictly adhere to fire safety rules during the harvest campaign!
Basic rules for farmers:
- install signs prohibiting the use of fire and smoking;
- mowing and plowing of fields is mandatory;
- the equipment must be in good working order and equipped with fire extinguishers;
- have a tractor with a plow in case of fire;
- create 4 m protective strips near forests, roads, and railways;
- divide large fields into plots of no more than 50 hectares;
- Ensure that fire extinguishing equipment is available.
During the harvest period, it is strictly prohibited to:
- smoking near grain fields;
- to light fires in and near fields;
- burn stubble, post-harvest residues;
- to hunt near the fields;
- allow the passage or parking of equipment, except for specially equipped ones, closer than 100 meters from grain fields;
- set up tourist tents closer than 100 meters from the field;
- walk on closed temporary roads and trails.
Remember: violating the rules and burning vegetation is administratively punishable!
In case of fire, call: 101!
