The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine informs business entities, land users and community residents about the need to strictly comply with the requirements of the legislation of Ukraine when carrying out activities related to the cultivation, storage, processing and sale of tobacco and tobacco raw materials.
Tobacco is an excisable product, and its production and circulation are subject to state regulation in accordance with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation.
Illegal cultivation, processing, or sale of tobacco may lead to violations of legal requirements, create prerequisites for the illegal production of tobacco products, and cause losses of revenue to state and local budgets.
Please note that conducting business activities in this area is possible only under the following conditions:
- state registration of a business entity in accordance with the procedure established by law;
- obtaining relevant licenses and permits (in cases provided for by law);
- compliance with the requirements of tax, land and other applicable legislation;
- use of land plots in accordance with their intended purpose.
We emphasize that conducting business activities without state registration and/or without obtaining licenses and permits required by law entails liability established by the legislation of Ukraine.
In order to prevent violations in the sphere of circulation of excisable products, we call on business entities and land users to conduct their activities openly, transparently, and exclusively within the legal framework.
