With the beginning of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, thousands of children found themselves in a situation of forced displacement or deportation.
This horrific practice violates the fundamental rights of the child guaranteed by international humanitarian law, including the right to life, security, identity, and upbringing in their native environment.
What can be done to help?
Record information
If you witness the deportation or transfer of children, record their names, approximate ages, circumstances, location and any other details. Share this information with official authorities or international human rights organizations.
Report to official structures
The Ukrainian authorities have created special platforms to collect information about deported children. Reports can be made via hotlines or online services.
Spread the word
Public awareness work helps to involve more people in finding children and supporting affected families.
If you know of a child deported or forcibly displaced by Russia, contact the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine.
