Under the procedural leadership of the Chuhuiv District Prosecutor's Office of the Kharkiv region, a pre-trial investigation into the facts of war crimes has been initiated (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, on May 23 at about 4:00 p.m., the Russian armed forces launched a missile strike on the city of Chuguiv. The premises of the enterprise, private households, and cars were damaged. A 32-year-old woman died. Two people were injured: a 58-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman who were in the garden during the attack. Both victims were hospitalized. It has been previously established that the Russian army used the Tornado-S MLRS with a cluster warhead in the city.
Prosecutors, in cooperation with police investigators, are conducting comprehensive procedural actions to properly record and investigate war crimes committed by servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported.
According to the head of the Chuguiv city military administration, Galina Minaeva, the deceased woman is Karbazina Nadiya. She worked as a nurse at the Chuguiv central hospital, was a sensitive and kind person, and the young mother of an eight-year-old girl.
– There are no words that could convey the pain that the enemy inflicted on this family. The child was left without a mother… Deepest condolences to the family. May the bright memory and the kingdom of heaven be with Nadezhda, – wrote Galina Minaeva in her Telegram channel.
Condolences were also expressed to the family of the deceased woman at the Chuguiv Central Hospital:
