On April 7, 2025, a representative delegation of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees visited the city of Chuguiv.

The purpose of the visit was to study the results of two projects of this organization, in which the Chuhuiv community participated: arranging a safe space for preschoolers and providing needy residents with financial assistance for heating in the winter.

UNHCR representatives had the opportunity to see firsthand how important the implementation of both projects was for our community. They visited the children’s space for preschoolers and saw how happy the children are there. Currently, in this underground “kindergarten”, created in the community together with the humanitarian mission “Proliska”, parents can leave their little ones under the supervision of qualified teachers of DNZ No. 8. Here, children spend their time safely and usefully.

As for the project to provide needy community residents with money to purchase solid fuel, UN staff were able to verify its effectiveness by talking to the recipients of this assistance themselves.

According to the results of the last heating season, there were several dozen of them, and in total, thanks to the cooperation of the city authorities with various foundations and charitable organizations, more than a thousand families from privileged categories were provided with heating funds.

Їх, за результатами минулого опалювального сезону, було декілька десятків, а усього за рахунок співпраці міської влади з різними фондами та благодійними організаціями коштами на опалення були забезпечені більше тисячі родин пільгових категорій.

UNHCR representatives were satisfied with everything they saw, and Deputy Mayor - Head of the Executive Committee, Lyudmila Makarenko, expressed hope that the cooperation of our community with UN institutions will continue to develop.
