Born on January 13, 1977 in the village of Mezenivka, Krasnopil district, Sumy region. In 1994, he graduated from secondary school in the village of Slavhorod, Krasnopil district. Since 1994, in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 1998, he graduated from the Military Institute of Artillery at Sumy State University (Sumy city). In 2000-2011, he served in the 92nd separate mechanized brigade and lived in the city of Chuguiv.
In June 2013, he graduated from the Command and Staff Institute of the Application of Troops (Forces) of the National Defense University of Ukraine (Kyiv). Since July 2013, he has been the commander of the mechanized battalion of the 1st Separate Guards Tank Novgorod of the Orders of the Red Banner, Kutuzov, Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Alexander Nevsky and the Red Star of the Land Forces Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since October 2014, he has participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine.

Circumstances of death:
Died on February 14, 2015, as a result of a landmine explosion when the column entered the village of Petrivske near the city of Volnovakha (Donetsk region). The driver of the combat vehicle (soldier Yu. Sklyar) died on the spot, the battalion commander was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but his life could not be saved.
Burial place: Mezenivka village, Krasnopil district, Sumy region.
His portrait is placed on the memorial "Wall of Memory of Those Who Fell for Ukraine" in Kyiv: section 6, row 7, seat 21.
By Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 311/2015 of June 4, 2015, "for personal courage and high professionalism shown in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath," he was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree (posthumously).
In September 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled on the facade of the educational complex building (2 Troitska Street) in the village of Mezenivka, Krasnopil District.
By decision of the Mezenivka Village Council, Pershotravneva Street in the village of Mezenivka, Krasnopil District, was renamed Artura Kostyuchenko Street.
