The Chuguyiv Department of the State Migration Service in the Kharkiv region informs the citizens of the Kharkiv region:

According to the Law of Ukraine «On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Provision of Certain Administrative Services to Citizens of Ukraine, Including Abroad» No. 3709-IX, a passport of a citizen of Ukraine is issued:

  • for persons under 18 years of age – for 4 years;
  • for persons aged 18 to 65 – for 10 years;
  • for persons aged 65 and over – indefinitely.

Thus, a passport for persons who have reached the age of sixty-five does not need to be exchanged every 10 years.

Taking into account international standards for travel documents, in such cases, in the "valid until" column, the expiration date of the passport is the date that occurs 50 years from the date of issue of such passport.

Benefits for citizens:

Fewer administrative steps: there is no mandatory regular passport exchange.

Convenience: especially for senior citizens and their families.

Compliance with modern standards of identity documents.

It is important to know:

Indefinite validity applies only to internal passports (ID cards).

For international passports, the validity period remains standard (10 years).
