
Born on 06.05.1999 in the city of Chuguiv. In 2014, he graduated from secondary school No. 5 in the city of Chuguiv. Yuriy was fond of football since childhood and dreamed of combining his life with sports, which is why he went to study at a pedagogical college. He wanted to study and teach others. He graduated from a pedagogical college in the city of Kharkiv. He received a degree in physical education. He worked for one year at Lyceum No. 6 of the Chuguiv City Council. He had many friends, was cheerful and persistent, sincere in life, friendship, and love. It so happened that he had to leave his profession, but continued to participate in football competitions. He fell in love, got married, and in marriage a son was born - Maxim. A child became the meaning of life for Yuri.

In April 2021, he expressed a desire to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was sent to the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky, located in Sumy region, and was immediately sent to the training center. After completing the training course, he was sent to serve in the 13th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 58th brigade, as an assistant grenade launcher. In November 2021, Yuriy signed a contract and in January 2022 was sent to the Desna training center for sergeant courses. Yuriy did not manage to finish them - the war.


Yuriy met the enemy in the Chernihiv region. He took part in the defense of Chernihiv, the city of Nizhyn, and later in the liberation of temporarily occupied villages of the Chernihiv region (Velyka Doroga, Novyi Bykiv, Nova Basan). During April, in addition to combat duty, his unit took part in the construction of fortified areas. For his participation in the battles in the Chernihiv region, he repeatedly received verbal thanks from the commander and was presented for the rank of junior sergeant. But he was not destined to receive this rank…

Circumstances of death:
At the end of April 2022, the unit where Yuriy served received an order to relocate to the Donetsk direction, the city of Bakhmut. There, the unit's fighters entered the battle with the enemy practically from the wheels. The enemy fired at them with artillery weapons of all calibers. On May 16, 2022, near the village of Trypillya, in the suburbs of the city of Bakhmut, Yuriy received severe explosive injuries. He was evacuated from the scene of the battle, on May 17 he was evacuated to a hospital in the city of Dnipro, but on the way his heart stopped. During the evacuation, his documents were lost and he arrived in the city of Dnipro unknown. He was buried at the Krasnopillya cemetery in the city of Dnipro under No. 901/NE Unknown Defender.
The search and return home began. Yuri's road home was long and thorny. It took his relatives, who were looking for him, more than a year to return the body of the fallen Hero home.
On September 6, 2023, Yuriy Parkhomenko was buried with military honors on the Alley of Memory in his native Chuhuiv.
