Last week, such appeals were received from residents of the Balaklia, Izyum, Chuguiv, Lozov, and Krasnograd communities of the region.
We would like to draw the attention of our clients: the Kharkiv branch of Gazmerezh does not provide services for inspecting chimneys and ventilation ducts and, accordingly, does not issue chimney inspection certificates.
If an unknown person impersonates an employee of Gazmerezh, threatens to turn off the gas, and demands money for issuing a chimney inspection certificate without performing the work, we recommend that residents of the Kharkiv region immediately contact the police.
For your own safety and the safety of your loved ones, the homeowner must ensure that the smoke and ventilation ducts in your home are inspected. Services for inspecting, cleaning, and repairing chimneys are provided by specialized organizations (so-called stove-makers). The homeowner chooses the organization that will perform the chimney inspection work on their own. These services are not monopolistic.
So that the homeowner can be sure of the reliability of the selected organization, we recommend checking and monitoring the following before starting work:
- the selected organization has permission from the State Labor Service of Ukraine to inspect smoke ventilation ducts;
- availability of service certificates for employees of the selected organization who will directly perform the work;
- approved list of works and estimated cost of the inspection;
- actual performance of work according to the approved list of works and their estimated cost.
Only after the actual inspection of the smoke and ventilation ducts in the building does the contractor draw up an inspection report.
