Over the past day, rescuers in the Kharkiv region extinguished 32 fires in natural ecosystems. The fire destroyed more than 35 hectares of dry vegetation. Local fire departments were involved in extinguishing 6 fires.
Fires in ecosystems are the most massive and widespread disasters: they occur in almost all areas of the Kharkiv region, especially in warm and dry weather in forests, peat bogs, fields, etc.
The causes of these fires can be a discarded cigarette butt or match, starting a fire and careless handling of it, or deliberately burning grass. In 90% cases, the cause of the fires is a person.
Dear residents of the Kharkiv region! Burning of plant residues is strictly prohibited!
Administrative liability for burning stubble, meadows, pastures, and fallen leaves ranges from 3,060 to 6,120 hryvnias.
Dry fires in de-occupied territories or in areas where there has been intense fighting can lead to the detonation of unexploded ordnance. This is extremely dangerous for life, including the lives of rescuers!
