MOLCHANOV Oleksandr Volodymyrovych (call sign DOC)

Born on 02/25/1986 in the family of a military man in the city of Chuguiv. He graduated from the Klugino-Bashkirivsk comprehensive school. After graduating from school, he worked in the private sector, connecting himself with the construction industry. As Oleksandr's mother recalls, "Olexandr had no universities behind him, but he became a talented professional in the construction industry. His "higher education" was golden, hardworking hands and a sharp mind. He simply had ambition and a desire to move forward without stopping," - this is how his mother remembers him.

From the very beginning of the full-scale armed invasion of Ukraine, Oleksandr tried to mobilize to defend the Motherland and, in the end, on January 20, 2023, he was mobilized by the Chuguiv RTCC and SP.

He served in the 23rd separate mechanized brigade. «From the first day, Oleksandr tried to be the first. He was the best. He enjoyed extraordinary authority. Having come to the position of radio operator, he believed that this was not for him, his place was only where it was hottest and most dangerous,» – this is how his comrades remember him. Thus, in April he was appointed senior scout, and in December 2023 – to the position of commander of the observation platoon of the reconnaissance company.

In December 2023, in the area of responsibility of the Tavria Special Forces Division in the Avdiivka direction, which included the 23rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, Ukrainian defenders continued to restrain the enemy, who did not give up attempts to surround Avdiivka. Our soldiers steadfastly held the defense, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

Circumstances of death.

On December 27, 2023, the Defense Forces in the Avdiivka direction repelled a large number of attacks near the settlements of the Donetsk region. The enemy, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of our troops. About 10 settlements of the Pokrovsky district were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Ocheretyne. While in combat positions near the settlement of Ocheretyne, Oleksandr Molchanov and his comrades suffered severe explosive injuries incompatible with life. In order to find out who exactly the remains of the deceased belonged to, it was necessary to conduct a forensic medical examination. In this regard, Oleksandr's mother received a notification on 12/30/2023 that her son was considered missing.

For 26 long months, the mother waited for her son, hoped and believed that he was alive. More than 26 months of heartfelt cries and bitter tears. A difficult ordeal - long months of waiting for DNA results. On 05.03.2026, the mother's hopes were dashed. On this day, the mother received a notification that her son had died while performing combat missions related to the defense of the Motherland near the settlement of Ocheretyne, Pokrovsky district, Donetsk region, on December 27, 2023.

Alexander Molchanov was buried on March 13, 2026 in the city of Chuguev on the Alley of Memory with full military honors.

The deceased soldier was survived by his mother and little daughter Vera, who was born when her father died, but was considered missing for two long years. Alexander went into eternity without seeing his daughter. And in the little heart of Vera, the pain that she never saw her father, who gave his life for her happy future, settled forever.

During his military service, Oleksandr was repeatedly awarded, but he considered the most valuable award to be the award of the Commander of the Tavria Special Forces Unit - «Indomitable Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian War», which he always proudly wore on his chest…
