Born on March 30, 1977 in the village of Kam'yana Yaruga. Ruslan studied at the Kam'yana Yaruga Lyceum. In 1998, he graduated from the University of Internal Affairs - Law. After graduation, he worked in law enforcement agencies in the city of Chuguiv. He was well known in the community as a lawyer who for a long time helped residents in the Chuguiv center by providing free secondary legal aid. He had special ranks - police captain, 3rd class lawyer of the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine. He was also known among Chuguiv sports fans as a player of the hockey teams "Skif" and "Alliance", a fan of cycling.
From the first days of the full-scale Russian aggression (February 24, 2022), he voluntarily joined the ranks of the territorial defense. He served as part of the 125th separate territorial defense battalion as the senior driver of the 1st mortar crew of the 1st mortar platoon of the mortar battery.

Died on 09.12.2022 in the village of Ploshchanka, Kreminsky district, Luhansk region, during artillery shelling.
The farewell ceremony for the fallen soldier Ruslan Malyavyn took place on December 12, 2022 in the village of Kamyana Yaruga. He was buried in the village cemetery in the village of Kamyana Yaruga.
By the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated 05.05.2023 No. 262/2023 "for personal courage and selfless actions shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath", he was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree (posthumously), which on August 9, 2023, the head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration solemnly presented to Ruslan's father and widow. During these events, the Malyaviny family presented a portrait of Ruslan Malyaviny to the Chuguiv Art Memorial Museum of Ilya Repin.
Memorial plaques to the fallen Hero are installed on the facade of the Kamianoyaruz Lyceum and the facade of the Chuguiv City Court.
