
Born on March 8, 1981 in the city of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region. Graduated from P.P. Schmidt Secondary School No. 2 in the city of Ochakiv. Since 2000 in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2004 graduated from the Odessa Institute of the Ground Forces.

Since 2004, he has been serving in the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0501, the village of Klugino-Bashkyrivka, Chuhuyiv City Council, Kharkiv Region). His family also lived there for over 10 years. Since August 7, 2014, he has participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine as the commander of the 5th Mechanized Company of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He conscientiously and honestly performed his military duty. He was loyal to his oath and his native Motherland. He always acted professionally and decisively.

After the death of Ivan Antoshyn, his family left the city of Chuguiv. There are no connections.
Circumstances of death:
On September 14, 2014, Captain Antoshyn, together with Captain Demidenko, conducted reconnaissance of the surrounding area near the city of Shchastya (now Novoaydarskyi district), Luhansk region. There they came across an enemy mine ambush - they were blown up on a "trench" in a forest strip. As a result of the explosion, both officers died on the spot.
On September 16, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the city of Ochakiv.

On May 28, 2015, in the city of Ochakiv, on the facade of the building of the P.P. Schmidt comprehensive school No. 2 (Shevchenko Street, 4), where Ivan Antoshyn studied, a memorial plaque was unveiled in his honor.
By Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 282/2015 of May 23, 2015, "for personal courage and high professionalism shown in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath" he was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd degree (posthumously).

His portrait is placed on the memorial "Wall of Memory of Those Who Fell for Ukraine" in Kyiv: section 4, row 5, seat 26.
