Experience of visiting our Resilience Center from Anna, who moved to Chuguev from Kupyansk

Anna from Kupyansk has been visiting the Resilience Center in Chuguiv for several months, where she and her family have been living since early last year. Here, Anna and her six-year-old son Oleksandr receive professional support from psychologists and social workers. This helps Anna feel more confident and gives her support in difficult times.

Anna, her son, and her parents moved to Chuguiv in the fall of 2024, when the mandatory evacuation of families with children from frontline communities was announced. The family began to organize their lives in a new way: they rented housing, their son Oleksandr went to first grade, and Anna began looking for a job.

The stress of moving and the realities of life during a full-scale war took their toll. The family needed support and positive emotions. Anna learned about the Resilience Center from friends, and today she attends classes under the «Stress-Free Parenting» program, and her son attends psychosocial support groups for children.

«When we were applying for certificates as internally displaced persons, we were told about the possibility of visiting the Resilience Center. I was told that there are very good conditions for a child there – games, art therapy. We came once and now we go with our son every day after online lessons at school. The children communicate, support each other, draw, sculpt, my son really likes such a creative atmosphere,» shared Anna.

Services at the Resilience Centers are free of charge and are open to all community residents, including those who were forced to leave their homes and moved to Chuguev from other communities due to the war. Specialists have created a friendly space in the center where you can chat, get psychological help, and advice in various situations.

«"We were told about the behavioral characteristics of children of different ages, after the classes for parents I understand my child better. So we go every day - from Monday to Friday, my son and I like it," says Anna.
