On May 1, the grand opening of the art exhibition "On Roads and Trails" by Oleksiy Butenko, a serviceman and representative of the Cultural Landing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, took place in Chuhuiv.

The exhibition brought together 50 paintings created by the author during 2026 while serving in the military in the Kharkiv region. In his works, the artist reflected personal experiences, everyday life at the front, and the beauty of his native land, combining military reality with deep emotional and philosophical motives.

During the opening of the exhibition, Deputy Mayor - Manager of the Executive Committee, Lyudmila Makarenko, addressed the audience, emphasizing that such initiatives once again prove that culture and art are important components of the national resistance, capable of inspiring, uniting, and preserving the memory of the path taken by the Ukrainian people to their victory.

The special atmosphere of the event was added by the performance of the Cultural Landing, which presented an artistic program during the opening. The musical numbers of the military artists were warmly received by the audience and became an emotional addition to the artistic exposition, creating a sincere and sublime atmosphere of unity.

Also during the opening of the exhibition, the director of the Image Cultural Center, Yana Vashchuk, presented Oleksiy Butenko with canvases on which he will create new works during the International Repin Plein Air. Oleksiy Butenko will be one of the participants in the creative group of the upcoming plein air, which will take place this summer in Chuguiv.

The initiator of the personal exhibition of Oleksiy Butenko was the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after the Kosh Ataman Kostya Hordienko. The event was held with the assistance of the Chuguiv City Council. The purpose of the exhibition is to consolidate military personnel and civilians through art, form a common cultural space and strengthen national unity in the conditions of the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The exhibition will last until the end of May in a shelter at 2 Torgovaya St. It is directly timed to the Day of Ukrainian Heroes as a symbol of honoring the courage, self-sacrifice, and indomitability of those who defend the state.
