Families with children entering first grade can receive financial support for school preparation as part of the state aid "Schoolchild Package". The Ministry of Social Policy explains how and where to apply for such assistance, as well as the features of the program.
«"Schoolboy's Package"» — is a component of a new comprehensive state program to support families with children. It provides a one-time assistance of 5 thousand hryvnias to purchase everything necessary for first-graders: stationery, children's clothes, and shoes.
Who can get help?
Parents or legal representatives of children who will be entering first grade in Ukraine in 2025.
Importantly: under the terms of the program, you can get help only one from the parents or legal representatives of the child. In addition, families who are abroad or in temporarily occupied territories will be provided with assistance after their return to Ukraine.
How to apply
This can be done. online — through the Diya application. To do this, you need to have an ID card or international passport and a verified tax number (RNOKPP) in Diya. First, you will receive a notification about the opportunity to apply, which will contain step-by-step instructions.
1. Open the Services section → State assistance → Student package.
2. Select the child for whom you are applying.
3. Select or open Action.Payment Card.
4. Check the data and sign the statement Action.Signature.
Importantly: The AICOM system is gradually filling up. If you have not received a push notification in Diya, this does not mean that you cannot submit an application or that there is no information about you - it will be entered in the near future. When the data is available in the system, it will be displayed in the application, and you will be able to apply for assistance.
You can also check with the educational institution whether the child's data has been entered into the AICOM system and check its correctness. Try submitting the application again a week after it has been updated.
If you don't use Action, written statement can be submitted at the nearest service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine - a list of addresses is available at by reference.
In general, you can apply until November 15, 2025. That is, the payment will be assigned even if the child was enrolled in the first grade after the start of the school year. The funds can be used within 180 days from the date of their accrual.
Program features
The benefit is provided for each child: if, for example, there are two first-graders in a family, the payment will be accrued for both children.
The funds can be used for purchases in both offline and online stores, but payment is made only non-cash - with a Diya.Card or a card issued upon application to the PFU service center. As for the term of crediting the funds, they will arrive after the application is processed, usually 14 days from the date of submission.
