Born on December 25, 1985 in the village of Eskhar, Chuguiv district. In 2003, he graduated from the 9th grade of Eskhar secondary school and went to work as a handyman at the Chuguiv oil extraction plant. At the same time, he graduated from the Chuguiv evening (shift) school of the Chuguiv district council of the Kharkiv region.
From 2000 to 2020, he lived with his family in the city of Chuguiv in the Druzhba neighborhood.
He completed his military service in 2004-2005. For three months, he was a cadet at the Training Center of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and then as a rifleman in the 4th Kharkiv Border Guard Detachment.
After completing his military service, he continued to work at the Chuguiv Oil Extraction Plant. In 2018, he made a conscious decision to become a member of the international religious organization Jehovah's Witnesses.
In 2021, he moved to the city of Lutsk, where he lived until mobilization. In July 2022, he was called up for military service by the Lutsk RTCC and the Joint Mobilization Office.
Until June 2024, he served as a senior rifleman in the State Special Transport Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the Lviv region. Later, he was sent to the city of Balakliya, Kharkiv region, where he served as a grenade launcher in the 65th missile artillery arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since the end of 2024, he has been defending Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions as part of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 157th Separate Mechanized Brigade, and the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade. Since September 2025, he has served as an unmanned aerial vehicle operator in the 225th Separate Assault Regiment.
Circumstances of death:
During the next exercises in 2025, Artem received a leg injury, but continued to perform combat missions in the Sumy and Zaporizhia directions for some time. At the same time, the injury did not go unnoticed. In April 2026, it made itself felt in the form of a deterioration in well-being. As it was later established, the knee joint injury became a triggering factor in the development of meniscopathy. With this injury, Artem was taken to the Balakliya City Council of the Kharkiv region "Balakliysk Clinical Multidisciplinary Hospital for Intensive Care". He was operated on there. Throughout Sunday, he and the doctors fought for his well-being and life. 04/22/2026 Artem died. Artem Derevyanko was buried at the cemetery in the village of Eskhar on 04/28/2026.
Artem is survived by his mother, brother, sister, wife, and minor daughter.
