Born on December 15, 1982 in the village of Bazaliivka, Chuguiv district, Kharkiv region. In 1998, he graduated from Bazaliivka secondary school and studied for two years at Chuguivka Professional Agrarian Lyceum No. 53, receiving a tractor driver's degree in 2001.
For over 20 years, Yuriy worked in civilian life: first at the Kharkiv Tractor Plant, later at PrJSC Agrokombinat "SLOBOZHANSKY", and after a forced move to the village of Kochetok, he worked in the private sector as a handyman.
In the village of Bazalievka flows the Velikiy Burluk River, which was the young man's favorite place. Since childhood, he spent a lot of time fishing. After lessons, and later after a tiring work week, Yuriy would take his fishing rods and go to the river to rest. But the war made its adjustments.
His life was connected with the Chuguiv urban territorial community, namely with the village of Kochetok, precisely because of the war. In 2022, the enemy destroyed the house where Yuriy lived with his mother. After the liberation of the Chuguiv region, they were forced to look for a new place to live, and therefore from that time on, the village of Kochetok became a refuge and a new home for the Blinov family.

In June 2024, Yuriy Blinov was mobilized by the Chuguiv RTCC and SP and sent to perform military service in the 25th separate assault battalion as a master flamethrower of the 1st assault detachment of the 3rd assault platoon of the 1st assault company of the 47th separate mechanized brigade. In October 2024, the battalion became a separate unit within the Ground Forces. And in November 2024, he was transferred to the Kursk direction and continued to conduct combat operations there until the spring of 2025.
Circumstances of death:
On February 2, 2025, the unit where Yuriy Blinov served was performing a combat mission in the area of the settlement of Guevo, Sudzhansky district, Kursk region. The enemy fired mortar fire at the unit's position. Yuriy died during the mortar attack. At the same time, his body was not evacuated due to constant enemy shelling.
Later, the territory where the unit's position was was occupied by the enemy. From that time on, Yuriy was considered missing. On February 7, the mother received a notification that her son had gone missing while performing combat missions.

For about nine months, the mother lived with the hope that her son was alive, but in early December 2025, she received terrible news: "Your SON... died on 02.02.2025... while performing combat missions related to the defense of the Motherland." On December 13, 2025, Blinov Yuri Leonidovich returned "on the shield" to the village of Kochetok, where he lived before mobilization.

Yuri Blinov was buried in the village of Kochetok at the local cemetery on 12/13/2025.
Yuriy is survived by his elderly mother, who lives in the village of Kochetok, and his sister.

«"And they are being taken - they are being taken by the "200",
They have no end or edge.
And in every corner of Ukraine
Graves with flags fluttering,
And next to them are black scarves
And gray-haired mothers
They raise their hands to the sky,
They beg, they ask the Mother of God
To receive their Sons to Himself,
And throw the racist nonsense to hell,
Let them burn.
And they are being taken – they are being taken by «200»,
"They are taking us home on shields.".
This poem was written by Svetlana Grigorievna, Yuri's mother, and is dedicated to all the fallen soldiers and mothers who did not see their sons return from the war.
