At a time when, as a result of repeated hostile attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, energy workers are trying to keep the power system in working order, significant complications are being caused by outages of overhead power lines caused by fires of dry grass, reeds, stubble, and other household waste.
«"People, not fully aware of the consequences of such actions, not only harm the environment, but also become the culprits of disruptions in the operation of power grids, which threatens a long-term power outage of critical infrastructure facilities. And in conditions of martial law, this may well be interpreted as sabotage with subsequent legal consequences for the arsonists," the company says.
JSC "Kharkivoblenergo" emphasizes the need to comply with fire safety requirements in the territory of protected areas of electrical networks. In particular, in these areas it is strictly forbidden to light fires, burn any household waste, burn grass, stubble and other dry vegetation, arrange landfills, store flammable materials, etc.
Remember that burning dry grass in the summer is not only harmful to health, but also dangerous to life. It is strictly forbidden to burn dry grass near power lines or electrical installations.
«"So we appeal to residents: be attentive and careful with fire, follow fire safety rules! In the event of a fire, do not waste time, immediately call the rescue unit by calling "101" and report the fire, the fire and how to get there. Do not neglect the elementary rules of your own safety. Take care of yourself and your loved ones," the energy experts emphasize.
