
In addition to dental prosthetics, military personnel and veterans can receive free dental treatment services within the framework of the pilot project "Dental prosthetics for certain categories of persons who defended the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.".
Dental treatment is currently available in 100 dental institutions in Ukraine that have an agreement with the National Health Insurance Fund. Dental care is available in almost all regions, except for the temporarily occupied Luhansk region and Crimea.
The largest number of dental institutions with a contract in:
– Dnipropetrovsk region – 10,
– Poltava and Chernihiv – 9 each,
– Sumy and Kharkiv – 8 each.
The number of institutions is increasing every day, as the signing of contracts continues.
Who can receive comprehensive dental care free of charge?
Dental treatment services can be obtained by:
– war veterans, persons with disabilities as a result of war;
– participants in hostilities;
– military personnel who have not yet received the status of a participant in hostilities, but continue to perform combat missions.
The service can be obtained both by referral from a doctor and by self-referral.
How much can you get for dental care?
The maximum cost of dental medical services provided (service No. 2) cannot exceed 24,952 hryvnias.
What is guaranteed free of charge to military personnel and veterans within the package for service group No. 2 “Dental Treatment”?
Dental treatment services include the following scope of medical care:
▪️ Conducting an initial examination of the patient with an assessment of the state of dental health.
▪️ Conducting X-ray examinations, including:
– intraoral and/or extraoral radiography, digital (radiovisiography);
– orthopantomography.
▪️ Provision of dental care, in particular as a stage of treatment and preparation for dental prosthetics):
– treatment of caries and its complications;
– treatment of traumatic and non-traumatic injuries to teeth and their supporting apparatus;
– restoration of the anatomical shape of the teeth, including the installation of a dental post;
– surgical and non-surgical tooth extraction.
▪️ Timely pain relief at all stages of treatment during dental care (if needed).
▪️ Providing emergency medical care to the patient, calling an emergency medical team if necessary, and providing emergency medical care until it arrives.
▪️ Referral of a patient for specialized medical care and other medical services, including dental prosthetics services.
▪️ Adherence to the principles of accessibility and inclusion when providing medical care.
How to find a dentist where a veteran can have their teeth treated free of charge?
Military personnel and veterans can receive free dental medical services at institutions that have signed an agreement with the National Health Insurance Fund.
There are several options for finding a medical facility with a contract:
– Call the NSZU contact center at the number 16-77. Tell the operator in which area you want to receive dental treatment services. The operator will dictate the phone numbers and addresses of dental institutions.
– Find a medical facility yourself on the online map of the National Health Service of Ukraine “Providers of medical services in the field of “Dental prosthetics for certain categories of persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” (in the filter field on the left, select the region or settlement.
