On this special day, the presence of Ilya Efimovich in the spiritual and cultural space of Chuguev is extremely felt. Repin truly unites all of us around beauty, goodness, creativity, and love for his native land.
The festive events began with the final exhibition of works from the 15th city plein air named after P. Maltsev. The works of our countrymen amaze with their skill and at the same time with their love for their native land and once again prove that Repin's traditions in painting will always live on our land, despite time, wars or new trends in art.
The residents and guests of the community were also presented with the final exhibition of the XXIV International Repin Plein Air, which opened in the Image CC. This is a celebration of artistic skill combined with the relentless search for new forms in painting. According to the well-known Chuguev art critic Alla Evgenievna Sazonova, this year's Repin Plein Air, despite the online format associated with the war, is one of the most significant in its entire history in terms of the level of the works presented there. Moreover, it has become a creative laboratory in which the search for directions for the development of modern Ukrainian art is underway. And this inspires pride in our community, for our traditions, which we, despite all today's adversities, were able not only to preserve, but also to multiply.
– I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved in today's wonderful festive events – the team of the Image Cultural Center, the creative association of artists and craftsmen of the city of Chuguiv, the artists of the Mykola Lysenko Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater and the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture, and, of course, the artists themselves.
