Major Serhiy Mykhailovych Grishchenko, born in 1966, served as the deputy commander of the repair and restoration battalion for weapons. He was drafted into military service in September 2016 by the Bakhmutsky Central Military District and the Donetsk Region Joint Service.
The defender's heart stopped on August 1, 2024 – he died in the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after I.I. Mechnikov.
Serhiy Hryshchenko was buried in Chuhuiv on the Alley of Memory.
