Born on August 27, 1981 in the village of Glushytsia, Sarny district, Rivne region, into a large family, where he graduated from the local nine-year school and lived for some time. After graduating from school, Serhiy studied at the Vocational School in Dubrovytsia from 1996 to 1999, where he received a complete secondary education and a specialty of carpenter-builder.
In the fall of 1999, he was called up for military service and served in the 6th Division of the National Guard of Ukraine, stationed in the city of Chuguiv, which was later incorporated into the Armed Forces of Ukraine and disbanded. Later, he served in the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, which was later reformed into the Separate Assault Brigade named after the Kosh Ataman Ivan Sirko.
In 2002, he graduated from the warrant officer school and continued his service in the brigade as a company (battery) sergeant and chief sergeant of a mechanized battalion. Since 2014, he has been a participant in hostilities in the ATO/JFO zone. There he received a concussion.
For his conscientious service, he was awarded the commemorative breastplate “Ilovaisk”-2014, the medal “Participant in hostilities”, “Participant in the ATO”. The Order of “Ivan Sirko” (2021). He participated in the defense and liberation of the city of Kharkiv during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and was awarded the distinction “For the Defense of Kharkiv”.

Wife: Natalia Germanivna Poznik, lives in the city of Chuguev, serves in the 92nd Infantry Brigade.
Daughter: Poznik Viktoriya Sergiyevna, born in 2007, lives in the city of Chuguiv.
Son: Pavel Sergeevich Poznik, born in 2014, lives in the city of Chuguev.
Circumstances of death:
Died on November 15, 2023 while performing official duties near the settlement of Rudnya, Chernihiv district, Chernihiv region.
On November 18, 2023, he was buried with military honors in the city of Chuguiv on the Alley of Memory.
