For a Ukrainian, embroidery is not just a folk costume. It is a national symbol, like the coat of arms, anthem, and flag. It helps preserve the roots of the Ukrainian nation and our identity.
Lovingly embroidered patterns have always served as a talisman against adversity, attracted good luck, and reminded of one's home, wherever one may be. On this day, Ukrainians all over the world wear embroidered shirts. And the Chuguiv community is no exception, because here they know, honor, and respect national culture and traditions.
Tonight the enemy once again dealt a treacherous blow to our city. Peaceful residents were wounded, their homes were destroyed. However, he again failed to intimidate us, to make us forget that we are Ukrainians, and he never will. In the morning, hundreds of residents of our community, from children to people of respectable age, put on vyshyvankas, demonstrating the indomitability of the Ukrainian spirit.
I wish all of us to remember and multiply good traditions, to pass them on to our descendants. I wish you health and peace, inspiration and faith in victory!
