Dear fellow countrymen!
On April 26, we remember the greatest man-made disaster – the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident – and honor the heroism of the liquidators who tamed the nuclear element, protecting the Ukrainian land and the entire world from mortal danger.
This accident caused a national tragedy, the consequences of which we still feel. It scorched the destinies of millions of our citizens - Chernobyl and today it resonates with burning pain and suffering in many families.
The number of victims of the Chernobyl disaster could have been much higher, and its consequences could have been devastating for humanity, if not for the courage and selflessness of the liquidators of the accident. Among the hero-liquidators are hundreds of residents of the Chuguiv community, who were among the first to join the ranks of the fighters of the atomic front. Many of our compatriots received dangerous radiation exposure, saving the world from the deadly atom, and died prematurely; many liquidators lost their health forever.
Infinite gratitude to the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the nuclear disaster, who showed heroism and stopped the spread of deadly radiation! In sorrow, we bow our heads to the memory of all those who were taken by Chernobyl...
May the horror of the Chernobyl disaster remain in the past and never be repeated, and may the memory of those events teach us to appreciate every moment of our lives.
