A 600 kW boiler room was installed in Chuguiv, which is capable of heating a hospital with an area of about 6,000 square meters.

The project was implemented thanks to the fruitful cooperation of the Kharkiv Regional Office of Public Health, the Ministry of Health, and the WHO.

«"One of the priority tasks today is to create conditions for the full autonomy of 43 medical institutions in the region, which have entered a capable network, according to three indicators - heating, electricity, water supply. This issue is under the control of the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Synegubov," said Olena Logvynova.

According to her, currently 10 healthcare facilities in the region are already equipped with backup boiler rooms, 6 with backup water supply, and 2 are fully autonomous. In addition, all healthcare facilities in the Kharkiv region are equipped with power generators.

«Ukraine continues to suffer from increasing attacks due to the war. Russia’s intensified strikes, including in Kharkiv, have killed and injured hundreds of people and left millions without heat, electricity and water. As the war enters its third year, it risks undermining the health system’s ability to provide essential services and meet the health needs of the population. Investing in the health system now is crucial to address the immediate needs caused by the war, as well as to lay the foundation for a healthier and more resilient Ukraine in the future,» said Jarno Habicht, WHO Representative in Ukraine.

The Deputy Head of the HOVA thanked the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and partners from WHO for their attention to the region and systematic support.

«We continue to jointly develop the medical sector and improve the quality of service provision in the Kharkiv region,» Olena Logvynova concluded.
