From today, the first portal for reporting materials related to child sexual abuse online – StopCrime – is operating in Ukraine. You can report a possible crime related to child sexual abuse online via link.
«"We are working with European partners to create a safe space for children in the digital environment. The StopCrime online appeals portal is a new opportunity to protect citizens' rights on the Internet, which is available in most EU countries and is now implemented in Ukraine. The development of such hotlines is also provided for by the European Strategy for a Better Internet for Children," said Valeria Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for European Integration.
The message sent can be anonymous. The main thing is to provide a link to where the content is posted. For further investigation and blocking of such content, the public organization "Magnolia", as a member of the International Network, will collect, analyze and transfer it to the Cyber Police Department and Interpol.
«"The launch of StopCrime is an important step in protecting children and creating a safe cyberspace. On this portal, people can leave reports about sexual abuse of children online and learn more about online safety. Confirmed information will immediately be sent to law enforcement officers to investigate and expose the perpetrators," said Yuriy Vykhodets, Head of the Cyber Police Department.
The NGO Magnolia is responsible for the operation and processing of online complaints and will contribute to the documentation and investigation of crimes committed against children. It is also a member of the international network of hotlines for reporting online sexual abuse of children – INHOPE. The Ministry of Digital Affairs began consultations with INHOPE even before the full-scale invasion began.
«"Sexual violence against a child on the Internet is a separate type of crime that has no borders, and combating this crime is possible only in close cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine. The Magnolia NGO is very grateful to our partners, who, despite the full-scale war and many challenges associated with it, contributed to the connection of the hotline to the INHOPE network in record time," reports Yevgenia Tkachenko, President of the Magnolia NGO.
