Chuguiv community and the German city of Murhardt officially signed a long-term partnership

Last week in the city of Murhardt (Germany), the Chuguivsk urban territorial community took an important step in the development of international cooperation. Deputy Mayor for the activities of the council's executive bodies, Igor Kashchavtsev, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on solidarity and cooperation between the city of Murhardt and the Chuguivsk urban territorial community.

This event was not the beginning, but a new stage in the history of friendship, which has been going on for over twenty years. It was in the early 2000s that the first partnership relations were established between Chuguev and Murgardt: mutual visits of official delegations took place, contacts were established between residents, and most importantly, mutual trust was formed, which only strengthened over the years. On July 11, 2026, this long-term cooperation received official international registration, opening up new prospects for joint development.

The memorandum provides for the development of friendly partnership relations, the exchange of experience and best practices, deepening cooperation between local governments, public organizations, educational and cultural institutions, as well as the implementation of joint international projects aimed at community development.

For the Chuguiv community, which has been living in conditions of full-scale war for over four years, this event has a special meaning. It is another confirmation that European solidarity is not just words of support, but real partnerships, a willingness to be there, help, and build the future together.

It was especially symbolic that during the ecumenical service, which took place as part of the Ukrainian delegation's stay, a charity fundraiser was organized to support the residents of the Territorial Center for Social Services of the Chuguiv Community. The collected donations will be used to purchase essential goods for people who need help the most.

We express our sincere gratitude to the municipality of Murhardt, Mayor Armin Mössner, the deputies and all residents of the city for the warm welcome of the Ukrainian delegation, long-standing friendship, openness to cooperation, sincere support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
