The Chuhuyiv community accompanied the defender of Ukraine Ruslan Akhremenko to his final journey

On July 18, 2026, the Chuhuyiv community, with deep sadness, saw off the last journey of serviceman Akhremenko Ruslan Oleksandrovych, who gave his life defending Ukraine from Russian aggression.

Ruslan Akhremenko was born on March 29, 1980 in Sumy region. He has lived in Chuguiv since 1994. After graduating from vocational school No. 19, he obtained a carpenter's degree. In civilian life, he worked at the Chuguiv Fuel Equipment Plant.

In November 2025, he was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 3rd Operational Brigade named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan "Spartan", where he performed the duties of a grenade launcher.

On December 26, 2025, Ruslan Akhremenko, together with his comrades as part of the "GRACH" group, was performing a special combat mission in the area of the settlement of Molodetsk, Pokrovsky district, Donetsk region. During the mission, the group was hit by an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle. Due to the extremely difficult combat situation, the evacuation of the dead from the position was impossible, and the serviceman was considered missing for a long time.

Subsequently, the body of the defender was transferred by the Russian side as a result of the exchange. Law enforcement investigators, together with representatives of expert institutions, carried out all necessary measures to identify him. In July 2026, the body of the Hero was delivered to the morgue of the city of Chuguev.

On July 18, 2026, Ruslan Akhremenko was buried on the Alley of Memory in Chuhuiv.
