During the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, despite the missile strikes and the destroyed military airfield facilities, the commandant's personnel, with the support of local residents, continued to bravely and confidently carry out their assigned tasks, thereby contributing to the preservation of the aviation component of the Air Force. The commandant's personnel heroically performed and are performing tasks as part of the Combined Rifle Brigade of the Air Force, where they take an active part in the destruction of the enemy in almost all directions. The brigade's units, performing a special task, also operated in the Sumy region in the homeland of Yuriy Pavlovsky in 2026. He was destined to defend his native Sumy region from the enemy.

On June 26, 2026, the Commander of the Combined Rifle Brigade of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces received a Report from the Commander of the 1st Combined Rifle Battalion on the awarding (posthumously) of Yuriy Viktorovych PAVLOVSKY:

On its Facebook page, the 203rd Vladislav Rykov Training Aviation Brigade published information that characterizes the defender, who was devoted to his Motherland until his last breath:
The last battle of "KHARKOV"«
The Ukrainian army suffered an irreparable loss. On June 11, 2026, while performing a combat mission in the Sumy direction, Yuriy Pavlovsky, a senior sergeant of the 1st battalion of the combined rifle brigade of the Air Force, known to everyone by the call sign "Kharkiv", was killed by an enemy FPV drone.
For Yuri, the war began back in 2006. For two decades, he was an example of true sergeant leadership, passing through the hottest points of the front: from Avdiivka and Mariupol to the defense of his native Slobozhanshchyna. His life was dedicated to the defense of Ukraine, and his combat path was one of indomitability and courage.
«When it gets tough, motivate by example» was Yuriy’s life credo. His comrades remember him as a commander who was always at «zero,» leading and teaching his personnel that the most important thing is to remove the word «can’t» from their own vocabulary.
Yuriy "Kharkiv" stood up to defend his land until his last breath. His loss is a deep pain for his relatives, comrades and all of Ukraine. The memory of the courageous warrior, who was the soul of his unit, will forever remain in our hearts.
Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!
Brother, your struggle has become our sacred mission, and your memory will live on in each of us as long as we stand. Heroes never die!
