The League of the Strong public association announced the launch of a project to provide legal consultations in the Kharkiv region. People with disabilities, internally displaced persons, older people, and representatives of vulnerable groups will be able to receive them. This — part of the "Accessible Law" project.
The hotline operates daily from 09:00 to 18:00 at +38093-933-66-77. Consultations are provided in plain language, free of charge and confidentially. The line provides initial consultations: preparation of document templates and legal representation are not provided; if necessary, a second request for additional consultation is possible. Live consultations will be announced at the beginning of the month on the union's social networks.
«"We are launching the "Accessible Law"», "so that every person with a disability, those who are at the stage of establishing it, as well as relatives of people with disabilities, have access to primary legal advice and understand what legal options are available to them. For example, where to go to receive social day care services or what documents are needed to pass the EKOPFO. Our specialists will explain in simple words whether your rights have been violated, where to find the necessary services and what your first step is - by phone or in person," explains Darya Kukurika, executive director of the League of the Strong.
You can get legal advice from a specialist in two formats: by phone via a hotline and offline. The project also plans to provide recommendations to local governments and institutions on improving the accessibility of services, organize training sessions for local specialists, and collect and transfer anonymized information about identified barriers to responsible institutions for the purpose of further systemic changes.
As a reminder, the public association "League of the Strong" unites organizations and changes society so that every person with disabilities has a dignified life. The association has been operating since 2021. Among the key areas — advocacy, changing the perception of disability in Ukrainian society, increasing the accessibility of services and spaces, promoting employment and economic inclusion of people with disabilities.
