French volunteer baker Luc Nervi, well-known in frontline cities, visited Chuguiv with his mobile bakery and team. His goal is to share warmth and care through the simplest, yet most symbolic thing – bread.

Early in the morning, Luke and his partner started working in a mobile bakery on wheels. Throughout the day, the volunteers baked fragrant French buns according to their own recipes, which they treated to patients at Chuhuiv Hospital and shared with local residents and internally displaced persons.

Since the first days of the full-scale invasion, Luc Nervi has been helping Ukrainians, seeing his mission in baking bread for the civilian population of the front-line areas. He previously worked in public kitchens, but thanks to cooperation with the charity foundation «Poland Helps Ukraine» (Poland Helps) last year, he received his own mobile bakery, equipped with everything necessary for field work.

His pastries are already well known to residents of Kyiv, Kherson, and Sumy regions. Now, Chuhuiv as well.

In France, Luc has four bakeries and a family—his wife and two children—awaiting him upon his return. He continues to travel to places where his help is needed, vowing to continue doing so as long as Ukrainians continue to fight for their right to life and freedom.

The Chuguiv City Council expresses its sincere gratitude to Luc Nerva and the Poland Helps Ukraine Charitable Foundation for this extraordinary support.
