To teach. To help. To save – these are the main tasks of a community rescue officer, who should become an important link in protecting every community from emergencies, natural disasters, and the consequences of war.
On July 22, as part of enhanced security measures, rescue officer of the Chuhuiv community Dmytro Kulkov conducted comprehensive work aimed at preventing emergencies, combating fires in ecosystems, mine safety, and educating the population on safety rules.
In order to combat forest fires, he visited the forest fire station, where he inspected the equipment and checked the readiness of the departmental fire department personnel to respond to forest fires. Firefighters practiced a combat deployment with the supply of water to a simulated fire in a forest massif.
Further, in the water area of the Siverskyi Donets River within the city of Chuguev, he talked with fishermen and vacationers, reminded them of the rules of conduct on the water, provided consultations on mine safety issues, paying special attention to the ban on swimming during martial law and the dangers associated with this type of recreation.
During a working meeting with the head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Galina Minaeva, issues of cooperation in the field of security with municipal enterprises and street committees, organization of training the population in emergency situations, as well as the formation of a conscious attitude towards their own security in the younger generation using a mobile security class and community educational institutions were discussed.
To prevent fires during the harvest campaign, Dmytro met with the head of a local agricultural company, with whom he discussed the measures taken to ensure fire safety on the farm. Together, they checked the readiness of the firefighters of the enterprise's Volunteer Fire Department to act in the event of a fire, and inspected firefighting equipment and machinery.
The Chuguiv region has suffered significantly from the consequences of enemy occupation and hostilities. A large part of its territory is considered potentially mined. Therefore, in order to ensure mine safety in the community, a trip was made to the village of Kluhino-Bashkyrivka, where work was carried out to mark potentially mined areas of the forest. Warning signs "Beware of mines" should protect local residents from the risk of being blown up by explosive objects.
The Community Rescue Officer Project is not just about responding to an emergency, but also about systematic preventive work, preparedness, and proactive response. It involves transforming the classic fire department model into a modern, more effective preventive safety structure.
