What to do if a child shows aggression? How to recognize the reasons for such behavior and respond appropriately to parents?

The participants of the meeting "Aggression in a Child. How to Cope with Aggression", which took place at the Center for Resilience for Foster Parents, Foster Parents, Guardians and Caregivers of the Chuhuiv Community, sought answers to these questions.

The event was organized within the framework of the UNICEF project "Strengthening Alternative Care through Support for Better Care Reform in Kharkiv Region.".

Vadim Mangubi, a child psychiatrist and psychotherapist, helped parents better understand:

  • What is aggression in children?
  • What are the types of aggressive behavior?
  • what causes it: emotions, trauma, disease
  • how to respond to parents and what influence the family environment has
  • When should you see a doctor?

Such meetings are an opportunity for parents to better understand their children and support them in difficult times.

The UNICEF project "Strengthening Alternative Care through Support for Better Care Reform in Kharkiv Oblast" is implemented by the Volunteers: Adults to Children Foundation together with the Children's Service of the Kharkiv Oblast Administration and the Kharkiv Regional Center for Social Services with financial support from the Government of Ireland Irish Aid and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) through the state development bank KfW.
