On July 15, 2025, celebrations were held in Kyiv on the occasion of Ukrainian Statehood Day and the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus - Ukraine. As part of the event, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented passports of citizens of Ukraine to 14-year-old children. Among them is our compatriot, a resident of Chuguyevo Elizaveta Shmatko. She is a vivid example of sports perseverance and talent.
The girl is a Master of Sports of Ukraine in acrobatic rock and roll and has international achievements as part of the «Formation Girls» team. In particular, in 2023, Elizaveta became the world champion among juniors at the World Championships in Krakow. Last year, the athlete again became the world champion at the Junior Championships in Prague, and this year she won the «bronze» as part of the Ukrainian national team in acrobatic rock and roll. Her achievements are the result of many years of work, support from mentors and family, as well as deep faith in her own strength. Elizaveta not only glorifies Chuguiv on the international stage, but also inspires the youth of the Kharkiv region to play sports and achieve the highest peaks.
