
Attention war veterans with disabilities involving the musculoskeletal system!
As part of the flagship project «Driving School for Persons with Disabilities», which is being implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, a convenient and high-quality public service has been created with teaching driving a car and obtaining a certificate driver for people with disabilities due to musculoskeletal disorders.
Now driving schools for people with disabilities work in six regions of Ukraine, namely: Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Odessa and Khmelnytskyi regions.
War veterans and their family members, who have a disability with a musculoskeletal disorder can receive free training in such driving schools as part of their professional adaptation at the expense of the budget program of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
Those wishing to receive free training at their chosen driving school can apply to the Department of Social Protection of the Population at the address of their registered place of residence (stay) or at their place of actual residence (stay) with an application in paper or electronic form. The following must be provided with the application: list of documents:
- copy (scan copy/photocopy) of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
- a copy (scanned copy/photocopy) of the registration number of the taxpayer's registration card (if absent, there must be a note in the passport about the refusal to accept such a number);
- a copy (scanned copy/photocopy) of the individual rehabilitation program (for people with disabilities as a result of the war);
- a copy (scanned copy/photocopy) of a certificate confirming the presence of one of the statuses, or a document confirming belonging to a certain category of persons;
- a copy (scanned copy/photocopy) of a document confirming direct participation in measures necessary to ensure the defense of Ukraine;
- copy (scanned copy/photocopy) of marriage certificate, for children – birth certificate (for family members);
- medical certificate regarding fitness to drive a vehicle.
Advantages The flagship project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is as follows:
- teaching and taking exams in inclusive spaces;
- accessible infrastructure and maximum barrier-free space;
- learning in mixed inclusive groups or individually on a convenient schedule;
- possibility of theoretical training remotely.
General duration of training – 11 weeks, of which 64 hours are theoretical course, 40 hours are practical course.
List of requirements to future drivers:
- desire to learn to drive a manual car;
- absence of medical contraindications that prevent a person from driving a category «B» vehicle;
- availability of the necessary package of documents.
The exam is taken at a Ministry of Internal Affairs service center in a manually operated vehicle. The driver's license is issued at the same Ministry of Internal Affairs service center where the exam is taken.
