A 40-year-old local resident illegally cut down trees near one of the garden societies in the Chuhuiv community. The perpetrator used a chainsaw to cut down sixteen maple trees.
While patrolling the area, police officers discovered a man loading wood into a car trailer. Through his actions, the perpetrator caused material damage to the state in the amount of over 32,000 hryvnias.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 1 of Article 246 (illegal logging or illegal transportation, storage, sale of forest) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The man was reported on suspicion of committing a crime.
